5 THINGS YOU SHOULD CONSIDER WHEN BUYING LED STRIPS
Where do you want your LED strip?
Will it be the main lighting, the characteristic lighting or the ambient lighting? Are the textures and reflectivity of the surrounding surfaces adequate?
Tip: the goal is to see the lighting effect but not the real light source; otherwise, you will see individual LEDs as "dots" of light, rather than a gentle wash effect. If the LED strip will be visible (the ceiling LED lights, for example), then you can use one of our LED extrusion profiles to diffuse the individual LEDs and create a uniform and uniform light bar.
How bright/intense do you want the emitted light to be?
Different effects and levels of light can be produced by different types, numbers and colors of LEDs in a strip, and by using extrusions or profiles.
(To test the chosen position, you can temporarily install an LED strip with adhesive tape and then fix the strip with your self-adhesive only when you are satisfied with the final effect).
Is the surface on which the clean, dry and uniform LED strip will be placed?
Standard LED strips to have an IP rating of IP33, but for use in wet areas, prone to splashing or wet, or in outdoor locations, you can choose moisture-resistant (IP65) or waterproof (IP67) strips.
How will your LED strip turn on and off? Do you want to control several zones or areas
regardless of a single regulator or controller?
All of our high quality LED strips are made to commercial quality standards and are tested to ensure they produce a uniform color quality. We recommend that the LED strips be installed by a qualified electrician.
How big is an LED?
The physical dimensions of the LED strip diodes significantly affect its light output (measured in lumens). LEDs can offer strips with two different sizes of LEDs. One size is no better than the other: the right choice depends on the application for which you want to use them.
3528– With LEDs measuring 3.5mm X 2.8mm, these strips are more suitable for home lighting where they will be seen closely. Lighting feature on roof decks, baseboards, under cabinets, stair steps and windows around.
5050: With 5.0mm x 5.0mm LEDs, these diodes are 40% larger than 3528 LEDs. They are approximately 3 times brighter and draw 3 times more power. Ideal for commercial use where the observer may be farther away (high ceilings, washing colors of walls, exterior lighting, ambient lighting for larger areas) or for domestic applications where more light is required, such as “work light”.
